Yesiamahooker and bosox. And of course, jimmy

Finally, another meat-eater to take to the steer house!

Barkley and Kerouac... Together at last. At the Denver Airport of all places. We are homeward bound. Thank Jeebus.

Looks like folks here in Colorado aren't overly fond of the teachings of the teachings of Joseph Smith. Must be the proximity to Utah.

Uncle Jimmy's newest protegee.

A different kind of Sunday Funday

At Jim's parents' house engaging in significantly more wholesome activities than last night.

Jaysons front lawn, or "beer can hill

Wow these cats know how to have fun. Between rockband and a roller blade trip to the skate park I don't know where night ends and morning begins.

Caterwauling

Jim and his pals "playing" rock band. There is a Jagermaster dispenser in this house. Good Lord.

Hello vacation!

View from Boston Beer Works at Logan airport. Our flight is delayed so the beer drinking commences now!

I moved to New England for this?! Global warming ruins everything.

Tooting my own horn

So I got the news today.
I'm now a Director at my company.
I am so excited for this new chapter in my life! I'm grateful to (finally!) work for a company that rewards and respects its employees and I haven't been more fulfilled in my work life in 8 years. I wish Jim were here to celebrate, but I went out for a celebratory drink with my colleagues and boss and feel nothing but positive about what the future holds.
Sometimes doing good and doing well can go hand in hand.

If you ever sat with Fiona...

... on the sofa at any time, this will bring back memories of the furry little menace.
Big Thanks to My old roomie Bob for sending it to me. I laughed aloud on numerous occasions.

Oxtail on fire

That is the name of this dish! You gotta love oscon and you gotta love portland! And if you are ever here I recommend a trip to pambiche for dinner.

Travel Safely

Jim is on his way to Portland, Oregon for OSCON, an Open Source Convention (he's staying an extra day for a beer festival) so I'll be home alone for a week. I'm torn between sadness about maybe becoming a little lonely and glee about being to be able to so whatever I want for a whole week.
Edited at 6:50PM to add:
So far today, I've eaten a quart of Richie's Italian slush (half lemon, half blue vanilla), gone to the mall, taken a nap and had a nice long bath. I think this week isn't going to be so bad after all.

It IS Massachusetts, after all

Jim is quite taken with this lobster. In fact, he appears to be asking for its pincer in marriage. We just ate at Yankee Lobster near the Harpoon brewery (of course). Mayor Menino stopped in while we were eating. That was an unexpectedly cool Boston moment with Eddie G in tow; we then dropped him off at the Fairy Ferry for his trip to P-town.

Here we are. I wish I had something clever to say.

It's about time

Look! The Harpoon truck is here with my weekly delivery. Thank the gods.

An Old Friend

Back to the scene of many crimes. Jim will be meeting me later but I was mysteriously drawn here in the interim. BTW, it is hot as balls out today.

Boston Harborfest -- Free Stuff at Govt. Center

More than just sharing a healthy sweet snack with the doughboy, one can also sample diet pepsi max, trail mix crunch, and healthy pork (Siobhan's note: It's the other white meat, remember). In the non-food department you can take a gander at Toyota's new hybrid car lines, discuss the finer points of life with a walking talking blackberry, and get a free toothbrush. The weather is dreary and makes me want for a low-fat (or not) chowda...

Reading of the declaration at ye olde state house

We followed the parade down from washington street and past milk street to the old town hall where a man read the declaration of independence to the throng. And we all cheered. Making appearances in the parade included the middlesex historical society and the billerica historical society who were actually shooting off rifles. Should they really give men that old guns that old? It's free country...

It's Saturday, it don't matter day. With the BKDM.

Warhol Art Maker

I found this cool download for a program that turns any picture into a work of art a la Andy Warhol. Because I'm totally in love with it and have been "warholizing" a ton of our pics, I wanted to share it with everyone.
Have fun! Share some of your Warhol pics when you make them.

Disco Skating

It's skate time for my friend Ken's birthday. I haven't fallen yet. Thank God. At my age, I might break a hip.

Take Heed

Sound advice for all.

It's Also a Bank!

Observe this monkey mist cocktail (Malibu rum, pineapple juice and... monkey?) in a take-home carved coconut! Kowloon in Saugus is awesome. It is the biggest Tiki restaurant I have ever seen.

Sunday, June 22, 2008

Look! It's Nathaniel Hawthorne.

It's the house of seven gables.

In Salem

We're at Finz in Salem and Jim just ordered a oyster shooter with ginger and sake. I, of course, ordered a beer. After this, it's off to check out spooky witch places. But first, we'll go to Richardson's for homemade ice cream. Good times.

Don't Be Scared, Little Trooper

Have a very happy birthday, Kevin!!!

Car Bombs. Wee!

Jym and the District doing a little dance for us....to Madonna. Sunday Funday is in full effect.

T is for Technology

Look at these 2 tech wizards comparing toys on the T. We're on the way to Doyle's for vittles and drinks. The beginning of an epic BostonSteamer Sunday Funday.

Finally. The Ugly.

This is the taxi waiting line at Logan Airport. This is also where we just picked up Jim's cell phone on a rainy Sunday morning from a taxi driver named Igor. He told Jim to drink less. Sage advice that will not be heeded in the least.

Saturday, June 14, 2008

Jim making friends with some people on a bar crawl - them, not him (yet).

The bad

After the Parade

This is the scene at City Hall Plaza. There were nutty religious wack jobs spewing hate at the end of the route but they didn't ruin the excellent, empowering vibe here now. This is one of the coolest things I've ever done. I am now waiting for the boys so I can get to drinking!

The good

Queens at rest.

We're behind "The Ramrod" float. Go figure.

Boston pride parade

The pride parade is offiially kicked off! This is going to be out of control I can tell. The mobile bloggers will tell all

Bears with lawn furniture on parade! Pride is great!

Fancy

I had a meeting here this morning. It was very cool. Sometimes I really dig my job.

Saturday, June 7, 2008

This is the ride we rode at the Medford Carnival. To be honest, the other people here are scarier than the haunted house. And that's not counting the carnies.

Happy Birthday, Vergie

I love you friend and miss you so much, especially when I need a good, drink-fueled talking-to about where I'm going wrong in my life.
